Bab Boujloud, An Ancient Historical Icon in The Moroccan Fez

Bab Boujloud is unlike most historical monuments in Morocco, its gate is very modern since it was built in 1913 in the center of Fez city, and was designed and completed during the French occupation of Morocco.

Bab Boujloud is considered one of the most well-known places in Fez because it is a gateway to tourists who wish to see the enchanting beauty of this city that full and has overcrowded but fantastic streets.

The decoration of Boujloud’s gate, its architecture, mosaics, and its large arch make it stand as one of the most famous gates in Morocco.

The archaeological “Bab Boujloud” remains a distinctive entrance to the ancient city since it was built at the beginning of the twentieth century.  Its design is an intertwined mosaic, blue on the exterior, and green on the inner façade.  The gate consists of a central arch and two small lateral arches. Close to the gate, there is a water dispenser, which is an essential artifact of the ancient city, Fez.
